Third Generation
3. Annetje Bording2,6–7 (Claes Claeszen-2, Claes-1) was born circa 1652 in New
Amsterdam, New Netherland.8 She died circa 1722 at the age
of 70 in New York City, New York, British America.8
Annetje's baptism was evidently not recorded in the New Amsterdam Dutch Church
records. Based on the gaps between the
baptisms of her siblings, 1652 or 1655 would be the best estimates for her year
of birth.
There has been some speculation that Annetje and Jannetje were the same person. However, Annetje married in 1675 and Jannetje was baptized in 1664. That would have made Jannetje 11 when she married, unless the baptism took place when she was 10-12.
Any question that Annetje was the daughter of Claes Bording was erased with the will of Claes and Susanna Bording, proved 5 May 1691. Annetie, wife of Cornelis Gregoe [Cregier], was named as one of the heirs.
Domine Selyns' 1686 register of members of the New York Dutch Church includes the following entry: Breede weg [Broadway] - Annetje Bording, housvrouw van [wife of] Cornelis Kregier. Also residing on Broadway were Hendrick Obee and wife Aeltje Claes. Annetje's father-in-law, Martin, was residing on Pearl Street.
Early Bergen County Families gives Annatje's death as about 1722, with other sources suggesting a death between 1699 and 1704.
