Crail married for the first time in 1836. There is some confusion over the maiden name of his first wife. The 4 August 1836 record shows Thomas married Mary Magdalena. Magala is another possibility. Daughter Hannah's death certificate gives Mary's name as Coy. Coil is another variation.
Mary and Thomas had two daughters, Sarah Ann [1838] and Hannah J. [1841] born in Shelby Co., IN. Mary had died by 1845 when Thomas married his second wife, Catherine Locke on 20 January in Rush Co., IN.
Thomas was taxed in Addison Twp., Shelby Co., IN in 1842 and 1844. He purchased land in Bartholomew Co., IN on 10 December 1848. He resided in Harrison Twp. until his death in the early 1880s.
In 1880, Thomas and Catherine had taken in their grandchildren, Charles, Nancy and Sarah Weddle. They were the orphaned children of Mary Ellen Crail and Elijah Weddle, who had died two years earlier. A domestic servant named Mary Robinson was helping to care for the grandchildren.

Crail6 (James Berry-1) was born circa 1813 in Pendleton Co., Kentucky, United States.6 She died after 1881 at the age of 68 in Dearborn Co., Indiana, United States. 6 Mary was the eldest daughter of James and Margaret. While the family was residing in Hamilton Co., OH, she met and married Cyrus Boyles. Unlike the majority of her siblings, Mary remained in Ohio. She and Cyrus reared ten children. Cyrus died in 1870. By 1880 Mary had moved to Dearborn Co., IN and was living with youngest son, Cyrus Jr. and his family. Mary probably died there during the early part of the decade.

He was on the Addion Twp., Shelby Co., IN tax list in 1842. Absalom married Celestia Harford in 1844 in Decatur Co. The Crails resided in Shelby Co. until the late 1840s, when they followed the family migration to Jackson Twp., Brown Co. [1850] and Harrison Twp., Bartholomew Co. [1860].
By 1870, Absalom had moved his family to Jackson Twp., Camden Co., MO near Proctor. He purchased 160 acres there 2 March 1876 [Twp. 38N Range 15W Sec 5 S½ SW¼ and Sec 6 E½ SE¼].
Both Absalom and Celestia died during the 1880s and were buried in the Buffalo Prairie Cemetery in Montreal, Camden Co., MO.

The couple married in 1837 in Dearborn Co., IN The Houks lived in Shelby Co. in 1840 and Brown Co. in 1850. They were neighbors of Senar's parents.

He died on 25 Jun 1897 at the age of 75 in Willow Hill, Jasper, Illinois, United States. 5 Age is given as 70 yrs. 3 mo. 4 days. Robert was probably born in Harrison Co., IN in 1822. He appeared on the Shelby Co. tax list for 1844. Crail married Lucinda Keller in 1845 and purchased land in Bartholomew Co., IN on 10 April 1846. He was assessed by the IRS in November 1863.
The following year [10 August 1864], Robert enlisted in Co. D, 140th Indiana Infantry and was mustered out at Greensboro, NC on 11 July 1865. The regiment was at the Seige of Murfreesboro, defended the Nashville and Chatanooga RR, was in the Carolinas Campaign and accepted the surrender of Gen. Johnston's Army.
