Errors can be a good thing - once you've fixed them!

While working on the James Crail Sr. brood, I came across an item stating that daughter Senar Jane met future husband Joseph Houk while he was operating a ferry in Miami, Ohio. I could not find a town near Cincinnati that fit. That is, until I got to the family of Senar's sister, Mary. Mary's eldest daughter was born in Miamitown. Ah hah!

Miamitown was founded in 1816 and is in Whitewater Twp., Hamilton Co. Miamitown was on the Great Mami River and it had a ferry!

During the 1830s, several Crail men appeared on the Whitewater Twp. tax lists: Absalom, two Thomases and James. With the appearances of Mary and Senar in the same township, it is reasonable to assume that the Crail family had indeed settled in Whitewater Township, probably near Miamitown.

Little successes!
