Cornelius Prall and Elizabeth Rittenhouse had the
following children:
i. Susannah
Baker Prall was born on 3 Dec 1791 in Kingwood Twp., Hunterdon Co., New
Jersey.22 She died on 15 Aug 1818 at the
age of 26.22
ii. Garrison
Prall was born on 3 Aug 1793 in Kingwood Twp., Hunterdon Co., New Jersey.22
He died on 16 Sep 1793 at the age of 0 in Kingwood Twp., Hunterdon Co., New
Jersey.22
2 iii. Rebekah Garrison Prall, born 9 Oct
1794, Kingwood Twp., Hunterdon Co., New Jersey; married
George Washington Hough, 30 May 1816; died 25 Jul 1818.
iv. Elizabeth
Rittenhouse "Eliza" Prall23–24 was born on 5 Jan 1797 in Kingwood
Twp., Hunterdon Co., New Jersey.22
Elizabeth [Eliza] was living with her brother Squire and sister Lucretia in
1850. She does not appear in the 1860 census, so it is assumed that she died
before the 8th federal enumeration.
3 v. Isaac
Rittenhouse Prall, born 15 Jan 1800,
probably Bernards Twp., Somerset Co., New Jersey; married Ann Bethia Rhodes, 7 Feb
1828, Harford Co., Maryland; died 1880, probably Clinton Co.,
Ohio.
vi. Squire
Prall5–6,22–27
was born on 14 Feb 1801 in Bernards Twp., Somerset Co., New Jersey.22
He died on 17 Feb 1881 at the age of 80 in Fawn Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania.22 Squire Prall was the sixth child of
Cornelius and Elizabeth [Rittenhouse] Prall. He settled, with the rest of his
family, in York Co., Pennsylvania where he became a farmer.
Some confusion about Squire Prall has resulted, probably from the misinterpretation of the 1860 census. Both the Marjorie Snyder data and The Prall Family [p.50] state that he married a woman named Lucretia who was a school teacher. [Very few communities during the 1800s allowed their female teachers to marry and maintain their positions.] Both sources also suggest that his first name might have been Thomas. There is no other documentation that suggests this is the case.
In the 1850 York Co. census, Squire, aged 49, was the head of a household that included Eliza Prall, aged 53, Lucretia Prall, aged 46, and a 13 year old named Charles Haggue[?]. The ages of the two Prall women are consistent with those of Squire's sisters Elizabeth and Lucretia. Lucretia, is still living with Squire in 1860. Based on those two census records, the Lucretia Prall residing with Squire was not his wife, but his sister. The 1860 census shows her as "house keeper." Other entries on the page identify the wives of the heads of household. Lucretia is not so identified. It is not yet known when either sister died. Possibly Elizabeth died between 1850-1860 and Lucretia between 1860-1870.
By 1870, Squire had taken in the family of his nephew Cornelius [son of Isaac]. Squire was living with his nephew David [son of Asher] in 1880. His occupation was listed as "retired farmer."
Squire Prall's will was written 7 April 1878 and probated 1 March 1881. Squire died at about 10:00 A.M. on 17 February 1881. He made the following bequests: [the nieces and nephews named were children of his brother Isaac]
[1] Brother Ellis - the sum of $300, and "all of my clothes which he shall choose to take or is worth taking."
[2] Niece Harriet C. Grove - the sum of $100
[3] Nephew Cornelius Prall - the sum of $100 and "any claim or obligation which I now hold against him to be delivered up to him, besides said hundred dollars."
[4] Nephew George R. Prall - the sum of $60.
[5] Nephew Franklin G. Prall - the sum of $60.
[6] Nephew Hugh M. Prall - the sum of $60.
[7] Sister Emma Boyd's children - the sum of $60 to each and everyone.
[8] Niece Ann E. Kohler - the sum of $100, "provided that there should be that much left after the former legacies and all expenses are paid."
[9] His remaining property [real and personal] was to be divided equally among Ellis, Harriet, Cornelius, George, Franklin, Hugh, and Emma's children.
Samuel Adams and Cornelius Prall were named executors of the estate.
Added to the will was that funeral expenses were to be paid by David Prall [Asher's son] if he got the real estate of Squire Prall. [It would appear that although David Prall was named as the head of the household on the 1880 census; the land on which his family was living belonged to Squire.]

vii. Lucretia
Prall23–25
was born on 29 Jun 1804 in Bernards Twp., Somerset Co., New Jersey.22 Lucretia resided with her brother
Squire during the 1850s and 1860s. She was not located in the 1870 enumeration,
so probably died sometime during the 1860s.
4 viii. John Rittenhouse Prall, born 21 Jun
1806, Bernards Twp., Somerset Co., New Jersey;
married Elizabeth Thompson Morrison, 21 May 1840, York Co., Pennsylvania; died 7 Apr 1881, York Co., Pennsylvania.
5 ix. Asher Garrison Prall, born 9 May 1808,
East Windsor Twp., Middlesex Co., New Jersey;
married Mary "Polly" Magdalena Trout, 13 Feb 1836, York Co.,
Pennsylvania; died
30 May 1889, York Co., Pennsylvania.
6 x. Ellis Free Prall, born 17 Aug 1810,
Pilesgrove Twp., Salem Co., New Jersey; married Sarah Ann
Randolph, abt 1839, Pennsylvania; died
aft 11 Jun 1880, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.
7 xi. Amy R. [Emma] Prall, born 21 Dec 1814,
probably Chester Co., Pennsylvania; married Edward G. Boyd,
2 Oct 1834, York Co., Pennsylvania; died 13 Jan 1864, York Co., Pennsylvania.
