As I begin to transcribe information on the Barry family [ancestors of Elizabeth, who married Thomas Crail] a few items stand out.
1] Elizabeth's brothers answered the call to arms during the Revolutionary War. William, George and Joel all served in Virginia regiments during the fight for Independence from Britain.
2] The Berrys fell in love with a set of names. William, George, Joel, John, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Enoch and Henry popped up in most of the five generations.
3] Henry was very popular, Henry [1626-1677], Henry [1652-1695], Henry [1689-1749] compiled the 1st three generations. Enoch [1725-1818] didn't fare well in his father's will, so the name didn't either.
4] Enoch, father of Elizabeth Berry, is frequently shown with wife Dulcibella Bunbury. This Enoch was a cousin and about 25 years older than Elizabeth's father. His wife has not yet been identified.
